HLC and H.O.P. for Kids

Householder Lifestyle Consulting is dedicated to teaching the stewardship principles of Hospitality, Organization, and Professionalism. As partners, Krista and Kristina Rugh have brought these concepts into their client’s businesses. Kristina was inspired to teach these concepts to a younger audience as well. She believes that when learned at an early age, the H.O.P. principles will become an integral part of your child’s lifestyle and will bring success to their future endeavors.

In order to reach her younger audience, Kristina has written a series of books which teach the meaning of each of these stewardship principles. The main characters in the books are all animal characters who "hop".

All of the H.O.P. series books are appropriate for up to 2nd Grade readers and listeners of all ages.  The books' illustrations are also hand drawn and colored giving a child-friendly perspective.

In, “Welcome to the Pond, An Introduction to Hospitality”, Frog has just moved into the pond and is throwing a tea party to meet his new neighbors. Through rhyme, Welcome to the Pond introduces the concepts of hospitality through the process of planning a tea party. The book walks you through the steps of planning the party, deciding on whom to invite, welcoming your guests, socializing, helping, and saying goodbye.

(Released in November of 2008 - available now through Our Products Store or for purchase at amazon.com).

This first book in the series also introduces Frog’s friends, Izzy and Red, who feature prominently in the next two books of the series.

Izzy's story, "Everything in Place, An Introduction to Organization", is the second story in the H.O.P. series.  "Everything in Place" focuses on the next stewardship principle, Organization.  Izzy is asked by Red Rabbit to help him get his house in order.  Through rhyme, "Everything in Place" teaches the reader how to organize their belongings in several rooms of the house and to decide what will stay and what should go.
